styled shoot

Chair Signs

I recently met Anna Wu through a mutual college friend, and feel so lucky to have been able to pick her brain on small businesses, the wedding industry, and her photography. More importantly, it has been fun just hanging out and discussing collaborations! Her photography is stunning and I knew immediately I wanted her to photograph my calligraphy, so I was excited when she agreed. She recently planned a shoot for a recent addition to my store - Bride and Groom chair signs, and I'm in love with the outcome!

Thank you for the gorgeous photos, Anna!

San Francisco Proposal

I was fortunate enough to participate in a styled shoot right here in San Francisco! And today it was featured on Green Wedding Shoes (eek!)

I totally wanted to keep that chalkboard globe after writing on it, and am so glad it looked beautiful the way it was set up.

Thank you Anni (The Love Riot) for asking me to be a part of such a lovely shoot! You are the sweetest!

Sew In Love Styled Shoot

It has been quite a while since I posted new photos of my calligraphy and fun projects I have been working on! Last year I posted items for a styled shoot with Roses and Lace. Here is the final shoot, featured on Wedding Chicks!

The shoot was beautifully captured by Claire Elyse Photography and had such a wonderful meaning. As told by Roses and LaceClaire of Claire Elyse Photography spent time last year in Kigali, Rwanda, documenting a group of 15 women in the Umucyo Sewing Cooperative. I later came across a picture from her trip. It was a picture of a woman with a tape measure around her neck. She wanted to wear the tape measure as a symbol of the joy, pride, and deep sense of dignity she receives from having an income and a way to provide for her children. This inspired us to create a shoot that captured this love and joy of sewing, and put it into a wedding styled shoot.

Styled Shoot

A previous client, Stephanie, from Roses and Lace asked me to provide some items for her sewing themed wedding styled shoot this month. Her color choice of greens and neutrals with pops of fuschia is beautiful, and I am so excited to see the final shots!

I not only got to have full creative reign on the paper products, but Stephanie asked me to do calligraphy on a piece of fabric! I used regular acrylic paint from Michael's and went to town. I think it turned out beautifully and even I'm a little surprised I didn't make any mistakes or spill any of the paint! Everything about this request was fun and I had such a great time creating with no guidelines. Thank you Stephanie!
